On approaches to modifying nonlinear fuzzy set membership functions
Abstract:
The use of fuzzy set membership functions is a common practice of expert preferences accounting in various situations of uncertainty. The choice of specific type of membership functions allows to adequately work with expert opinions according to the applied tasks being solved, and the use of modifying procedures allows to obtain new functions based on existing ones without additional involvement of experts. The work discusses and suggests new approaches to modifying of nonlinear membership functions, as well as examines the issues arising from their usage.
