Modeling of Photon and Electron Scattering by the Particle Method
Abstract:
The penetrating radiation quanta and recoil electrons formed during their photoabsorption and Compton scattering are considered. The condition of stationarity of the transfer process is obtained. Spatial and spectral distributions of quanta are approximated by delta functions. The distribution function is presented as sets of particles with given coordinates and momenta. The electron transfer equation is considered in the approximation of average energy losses during impact ionization and excitation of the medium, relaxation to an isotropic distribution during elastic scattering. As a result, an algorithm of the particle method is constructed, allowing one to calculate the energy release and current density of recoil electrons on a difference grid.
