Investigation of Control Algorithm Using Aerodynamic Force for Satellite Formation Flying Three-Dimensional Motion
Control of group of satellites in Low-Earth orbit by aerodynamic force is considered. A simple model of aerodynamic force acting on the satellite is proposed. It allows to calculate the satellite attitude relative to the incoming flow to obtain the required aerodynamic force. With the given model parameters, the region of admissible satellite control is obtained. An algorithm to control a relative motion of satellites based on a linear-quadratic controller is considered. A method is proposed for studying the range of parameters of the algorithm in which the calculated control will be located in the range of admissible values for the given deviations of the trajectory. A numerical study of the controlled motion under the action of perturbations from the second harmonic of the Earth gravitational potential and the inaccuracy of the knowledge of the density of the atmosphere is carried out.
