On numerical simulation of Rayleigh-Benard convection
Abstract:
The paper deals with numerical simulation of convective instability in a liquid with linear vertical initial temperature profile. Liquid is considered in a square box subjected to the gravity field.
Action of mesh parameters on critical Rayleight number of discrete model is studied. In the wide range of parameters dependence of integral flow characteristics (average kinetic energy, Nusselt number) on Rayleight number is investigated. Results are compared with theoretical data.
