Ballistic Analysis of Flight to Mercury with Electric Propulsion
Abstract:
The ability of flights to Mercury of spacecraft with electrorocket propulsion and solar arrays is proved. The use of “Proton” or “Souz” launchers and the electrorocket propulsion (EP) allow to make a Mercury orbiter. The influence of spacecraft and EP parameters on the payload and trajectory are investigated.
