Comparative Analysis of Difference Schemes for Linear Advection Equation.
Abstract:
The paper is aimed at the analysis of the most well known two-level finite-difference schemes for the solution of initially-value problem for linear one-dimensional advection equation with finite initial data. The system of standard tests is proposed. The information about numerical solution errors is presented in suitable form. The value of errors in different norms is the base for the comparative analysis of known schemes and construction of new numerical methods.
