Calculating and Measuring Low Frequency Component in Acceleration on Board the Earth Artificial Satellite.
Abstract:
The low frequency acceleration component on board the orbiter during five free drifts periods in STS-65 mission is analyzed. For these periods the orbiter attitude motion was reconstructed on the base of its angular rate measurements, and for reconstructed motion a quasi-steady acceleration component at some on board point was calculated. There were sensitive elements of the OARE accelerometer system at this point. The calculated quasi-steady acceleration component was compared with OARE measurement data. The comparison reveals rather good agreement between both values.
