Evolution of the motion in the mechanical system with a strong linear damper
Abstract:
We consider the mechanical system composed of two integrated subsystem. When the interaction is removed, one of these subsystem becomes a Hamiltonian system, while the other becomes a dissipative linear oscillatory system. Using the method of the integral manifolds we investigate dynamics of the system after the damping of the high-frequency oscillations in the dissipative subsystem. The equations describing the long term evolution of the motions in Hamiltonian subsystem are obtained.
