Methods of data compression in computer systems . Methods of element-by-element compression
Abstract:
Extended introduction in data compression problems is given in the paper. It is noted that compression and redundance of data is expedient to consider with the point of view of syntax, semantics and pragmatic of language space. Two classes of compression methods are outlined: element-by-element compression and data group compression. A systematization of element-by-element methods is given. The class of basic compression methods by optimal coding and modifications is described in detail.
