Low thrust flights to small bodies of Solar system
Abstract:
The low thrust flights trajectories to asteroids, comets and large planets are considered. It is assumed that the spacecraft is boosted by the high thrust engine from the orbit of the Earth satellite with hyperbolic velocity. The interplanetary flight is performed by the ideal control low thrust. Some variants of interplanetary flight are considered: the follow-on of only one asteroid or comet (with equalizing the coordinates and velocities of the target and the spacecraft); the close flyby of one more asteroid (without equalizing of velocities) on way to the main target; the consequent, follow-on of some more asteroids after the first one; the perturbation manoeuvre near the large planet.
