Information Model of the Mechanism of Human Perception of Visual Information
The modern airplanes are complex systems. The operator, who managing such systems, analyzes a large stream of data about the current state of the control object in real time. The speed of perception of this information directly affects on the speed and the accuracy of control. It is necessary to know the peculiarities of the human perception of visual information, for build effective interfaces of control systems with the function of adaptability for the operator. The mechanism of perception of visual information is a set of complex processes. There are the studies of visual information perception in the laboratory of human-computer interaction of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. Based on the results fo this studies an information model of the mechanism of human perception of visual information is proposed. The mechanism is reduced to the analysis which of the system elements has an which type of the data processing. Experimental studies were carried out using the hardware and software complex of eye-tracking. The proposed model provides a new approach for analyzing the interaction of the operator with the user interface in complex symbiotic control systems for remote objects.
