Classification of mental illnesses by dendrograms of EEG of brain and their characteristics
Abstract:
The problem of making a correct diagnosis of a patient's disease is always is up to date. In this paper, we consider the problem classification of patients by type of mental illness based on analysis of EEG dendrograms of the brain. Shor O., Glik A., Yaniv-Rosenfeld A., Valevski A., Weizman A., Khrennikov A., Benninger F. proposed a method for analyzing dendrograms constructed from EEG for patients from several groups, previously divided into clusters according to the rendered medical verdict on the basis of p-adic quantum potential. In this study, it was decided to go the other way, and namely, to analyze dendrograms, which can be viewed as prefix codes. Analysis of the calculated parameters of prefix codes revealed the following feature: the average values of the mathematical expectation, entropy and variance for a group of patient dendrograms belonging to one mental cluster are unique. It is worth noting that the proposed method of EEG analysis can be used only as an auxiliary means indicating possible; type of disease. A correct diagnosis, through additional investigations, may put only by a specialist doctor.
