The Internet opens up interesting possibilities for a bibliographic reference. One of the most important is a “reverse bibliographic list” that is built dynamically, i.e. at the time of the reader’s request, made up of bibliographic records of publications that link to this one. The reverse list is extremely useful for both the reader and the author: it constructively and clearly shows the direction of research that develops the notions set out in this publication. With the spread of the Internet, a new genre of scientific publication was formed – an “alive” publication, which is constantly being developed and improved by its author. The genre was very successful: the attendance of alive publications, as a rule, exceeds the attendance of regular, static ones by hundreds or thousands of times. To guide the reader, the bibliographic reference to an alive publication includes a dynamically updated date of its last revision. Some other modern elements of the online bibliographic reference are also considered.
