A new methodology for measuring and evaluating the quality of life of the population in modern society is proposed. It takes into account such important indicators of living conditions as public safety, social stability, energy, transport and information infrastructure, as well as the duration of healthy life of people. It is shown that one of the critical factors of national security is the social stability of society, and to ensure it, it is necessary, first of all, to reduce the level of social stratification and poverty.
