On the History of Computer Algebra applications in Mecanics
Abstract:
Computations with symbolic expressions (Computer Algebra, CA) were one of first attempts of modeling of intellectual work. Mechanics and their problems provided a waste field for such investigations; mechanicians did play a significant role in CA evolution. In this paper we give a brief description of some stages and problems of CA development and application in mechanical tasks. In more details it is presented in the book and several papers of the authors.
