Considered the method for long-term forecasting of social-economic development of the regional system by the example of the Moscow region. The method is based on the expert macroeconomic model of the gross regional product reproduction. The model takes into account the dynamics of the regional population, employment, industry, agriculture, gross regional product and its share in gross domestic product of the country. The interpretations of the results and the comparisons with the official development strategy of Moscow region are made. The described method is proposed as a basis for the information system to facilitate the long-term social-economic planning at the regional level.
