Outstanding IT projects of the late 20th century and duets of their creators
Abstract:
Time flies quickly in the computer industry. Equipment, storage media, components, and software tools are changing beyond recognition. What were relevant 10-20 years ago has become ancient history. But some remarkable projects have retained their significance till nowadays and have greatly changed the development of the industry and all life. The article examines the developments carried out at the end of the twentieth century and which determined the further development of the IT industry. Their authors are pairs of specialists who combined their programming and management talents. The history of the emergence of famous computers, operating systems, the World Wide Web, and Internet navigation tools is briefly described.
