The situation with the representation of Russian scientific journals online raises many questions. Why does it usually take one or two days from the moment an article receives the approval of reviewers, editors, and proofreaders until the article appears online abroad, while in our country it takes several months? When will a Russian publisher come to understand that an online article can and should now be associated not with a one-time act of publication, but with an unlimited in-time process of improvement and updating? Why does the reader regularly come across registration and/or payment requirements when searching for a Russian article online? Why are multimedia illustrations extremely rare on the online pages of Russian magazines? Why are the software tools serving online bibliographic references so poor?
