Generation of three-dimensional turbulent velocity fields on the base of a randomized spectral method
The stochastic spectral method proposed earlier for the generation of two-dimensional isotropic homogeneous turbulent fields is generalized to the three-dimensional case. The results of a numerical analysis of the proposed method are presented. It is shown that the obtained implementations of turbulent fields have the necessary properties for use as boundary conditions for LES / DNS calculations.
